Free — and the photos cost only what they cost us
Every feature in LunarKiri is free and stays free. The one thing you can pay for is room for more photos — and at one photo a day it takes over three months to reach the point where that question comes up. When it does, the price is there to cover what that space costs us, not to earn anything on top of it. And because paying for that hosting is what keeps Kiri online for everybody else too, every colour theme and the theme builder come with it — our way of saying thank you, not something we are selling you.

What is sold here is photo storage. The plan raises one bird’s photo limit from 100 to 2000, and that is the entire product — the product page describes it. It is not open for purchase yet: there is no checkout on this site and nothing here can take your money today. What LunarKiri is, and is not.

The one price here, and why it is not profit
The short answer: room for photos, only above a limit most people never reach, and only enough to pay for itself.
What is free?
The care guide, the hazards directory, the quizzes and flashcards, the daily routine, the weight log and its warnings, the calendar, health tags, notes, vet visits, the vet report, the pet-sitter sheet, the emergency card, the mutation gallery, Family Mode, reminders, and the full export of everything you have written — photos included. All of it, permanently, with no account tier and no trial.
Then why does anything cost money?
Because photographs are the one part of Kiri that keeps costing us something after you have taken them. Pictures need somewhere to live, and we pay for that space every month, for as long as you want to keep them. The plan is sized to cover that and nothing beyond it — it is not profit, and it is not a way to make the free app feel small. Everything else here costs us the same whether ten people use it or ten thousand, so nothing else has a price.
So what costs money?
Room for photos of the day. Each bird holds 100 of them at no cost. If you photograph every day, that is over three months before the question arises. The paid plan raises it to 2000 per bird, which is more than five years at the same rate.
How much?
€3 a month, or €30 a year. The yearly price is the same money as ten months and one payment instead of twelve. Wherever your country supports it, the price is shown and charged in your own currency, so your bank adds no exchange fee.
What happens if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. The limit returns to 100 per bird, and every photo you already have stays visible, stays shared with your family and stays in the export. Only a new photo above the limit is refused — Kiri never removes one of yours to make room for another.
Who takes the payment?
Paddle, as the merchant of record. They are the seller for the purchase, they issue your invoice, and your card details never reach us. Refunds and billing questions go to them or to us, either way. The refund policy is here.
Is anything held back to make me pay?
No, and there is nothing planned that would be. No safety information, no care feature and none of your own data has ever sat behind a payment, and none ever will. What you can pay for is room — the same app, with space for more pictures of your bird in it.
